Dinefwr Electric Car Club
Ynni Sir Gâr are very excited to be working with partners at TrydaNi and Community Energy Wales to develop a project to establish an electric community car club in the Dinefwr area. The purpose of the club is to offer an affordable option for local people to travel more sustainably, where public Transport is not convenient, or active travel impossible. The aim is also to encourage households with more than one car, to consider using the car club as their second car when needed (in the process contributing to taking carbon emitting cars off our roads).

At the moment, the car is at the Castle Car Park in Llandovery. Carmarthenshire Council have been kind enough to allow us to keep the car here until the end of the summer, so if you’d like a go, contract us. To give an idea of costs, have a look at our example travel costs here.

Below are a few examples of inclusive costs for a variety of trips made using the Dinefwr Car Club that all begin and end in Llandovery Castle Car Park. The costings do not include the cost of charging (note, there are some places where you can charge for free, e.g., National Trust properties, some cafes and pubs etc – see ‘Zap Map‘ for charging points). If you book a car for more than 150 miles, you will receive a 10p per mile discount.
